MOVE!

Modern sedentary lifestyles have created a conflict between comfort and health. Prolonged sitting, encouraged by overly comfortable chair designs, increases risks of severe health issues like heart disease and diabetes.

The 'MOVE!' chair is designed to gently encourage movement while sitting. It includes a mechanism that makes long sitting sessions less comfortable - cushions slowly shift or fall, prompting you to adjust your position and retrieve them.

These subtle features help break up static postures, reminding you that bodies are meant to move. The chair promotes a healthier, more active way of sitting without disrupting your routine.

This project was a small yet memorable part of my furniture design studies and remains one of my favorites. The solution is simple, with a touch of humor - something I believe is essential in designing casual, everyday objects. The playful interaction between humans and objects adds a spark, creating a unique connection.
